Most of the moral panic shit was hyped up by its opposition when it had little genuine power. They'd find some anti-rock music VHS produced by some obscure church and pretend it was the frontline of a political machine. A dumb proto-HR cunt takes over Wizards of the Coast and like the woman she is decides to make everything as politically correct as possible and suddenly this is attributed to some organized pushback against a ttrpg, when in reality it was just a woman being a woman and playing it "safe" to placate investors.
