it would be retarded to do, openly empower European NATO to do a lot more than just sending weapons to to a country under invasion, and practically run counter to their current strategic goals beyond the idea of trying to get the soviet union's territory back. they would probably end up using the idea that the Estonians are 'genociding' the Russians in their country because they've refused to grant automatic citizenship to the ones left behind after the fall of the USSR, and Russia also refused to grant citizenship to them, meaning there's a lot of weird pseudo-law around them. Estonia is in a much worse position to resist a similar capital blitz, but can still turn into a protracted war and occupation that Russia does not have the spare manpower for without mobilization.

so i'd say we have about even odds at this point.

It's not really about starting something now, its testing NATO's resolve and response, seeing what they do after each provocative action, espionage, sabotage, cable cutting, assassinations and now drone and aircraft incursions. So far all NATO has done is polite rebukes, next step is on the ground incursions. It's all about pushing the goal post an inch or two until eventually they de facto can get what they want, or best case scenario, NATO tacitly ignoring article 5.

He's probably gambling that NATO isn't about to commit to direct military action against Russia - especially not with winter around the corner. If that bears out then NATO is worthless. There's also the possibility that it's intended to precipitate a collapse in order to pass the buck.

Nah, they are wary of russia since at least the Crimea annexation when Putin said "Nazarbayev created a state on a territory that never had a state. Kazakhs never had any statehood, he has created it."
Coupled with statements from other russian politicians on where to turn their eyes after Ukraine it didn't take much for the Kazakhs to put two and two together and rather hedge their bets with China and the west
They even had a "send history books to Putin" campaign and it was a influence in them dropping the cyrillic alphabet

The most cohesive theory I've heard about this is that Russia wants NATO to down a plane or something relatively minor, which would then be used to justify mobilizing every man under the age of 99.
They would then route most of those mobiks into Ukraine instead of trying to directly invade NATO territory, on the (probably reasonable) assumption that NATO wouldn't actually invade Russia for some border scuffle, and might at worse weaken Russian defensive posture in the reason.

People don't understand that the Little Green Men strategy only worked in Ukraine because of a complete breakdown of civic control in Crimea and existing Russian-aligned elements in the government and security apparatus. Since Estonia doesn't have those same circumstances the proper response to LGM is to send out law enforcement to monitor and confront what are clearly some kind of nonaligned, armed malcontents. Russia gets to either stand them down or risk a violent confrontation which would result in them locking down the region and flooding it with security forces.

I'm gonna be honest, nothing russia has done since 2014 was not retarded. Putin threw away his infinite money glitch to get some small territories in Georgia and Ukraine. You are retarded and naive, with no understanding of how russia and russian society operates, nor the memory of their other actions. They never need any "casus belli", they real or otherwise, they just do shit when they want and spew a firehose of bullshit to justify it afterwards. Not before, afterwards. Nobody created a casus belli in 2008 when they were firing on Georgians and later moved the army there, creating a narrative about evil georgian nazis. Nobody created a casus belli in 2014 when they've captured Crimea and engaged in war in Donbas. Propaganda support was created post-factum. Nobody created a casus belli in 2022 before the invasion into Ukraine, they were lying that there won't be an invasion and it's just training up to the day that the invasion happened, and only after the soldiers moved in and bombs started dropping did the chief manlet go to TV to spew bullshit about denazification and demilitarization of jew-led nazi ukie state.

You are even more retarded because since 2023 they've enacted dozens of laws to make the whole conscription processes fasted, more efficient, more restrictive and yet fully hidden from society.
1. They don't need to announce any new mobilization, they are still in the mobilization state, there was never an official end to the one announced in 2022.
2. When they need people whom they can't get through other means, they can just push some buttons behind a PC and have people automatically called in through electronic summons being generated for them, with the new laws they are officially deemed delivered upon generation, and if the person doesn't personally go the draft office they'll have their bank accounts frozen, driver's license cancelled, forbidden from leaving the country, forbidden from taking out loans, selling their assets and so on. That's basically GG for most normies living in large cities.

I imagine Estonians have artillery trained on those spots, but if Russians are clever they could slowly prepare to mitigate that - move heavy machinery already on island, drain the basin during summer, block the canal in several places and attack in late summer.

And if they're real crafty they could divert the entire river. But that's all still within arty reach and wouldn't allow for surprise incursion.

Realistic combatants in the war are those whose skin are on the line. Beyond the three baltics like finland and poland who want to keep the war in estonia and lithuania, far away from their borders. its exactly what happened in donbawe/lughanda when urkanian military was moving along the border line to encircle the bandit kingdoms. Vatniks started shooting them across the border before reinforcing the gopniks with their army units

So estonian options are to counter battery and drone vatniks across the border. After which zigger propaganda will take the footage and start poisoning the deep west gullible idiots on tik tok how little nazi state is provoking WW3

fundamental weakness and vulnerability of the western civilization is their utter incompetence in dealing with fifth column propaganda flowing in unrestricted through the porous social media. The lack of communication between the chink and zigger shills is astounding since you'd think they'd be on the same side. Let me explain to you why the chink shills don't threaten a Taiwan invasion.

China physically don't have enough landing craft to pull an invasion off. Their fastest ships, can do the trip in around six hours one way, so it's a 12 hour round trip to go and get reinforcements. So all going well, if by some miracle the first wave doesn't get noticed and fired upon, they can, at their very best, deploy a few thousand light infantry on a beach with pre-sighted artillery with no fire support and a few light vehicles. Good job fuckers, you now have an entire day getting the shit kicked out of you before anymore help can arrive.

The Chinese Navy has geared itself up to fight other ships, not support landing forces, so after they fire off eight-ten cruise missiles, they are now out of the fight for a day and a half, if they are able to dock, reload and return at maximum efficiency. The best they can hope for is that, again, they miraculously get their unnoticed and no one plugs them in the ass as they run off home again.

Paratroopers are a no go, because the parts of Taiwan that aren't swamps and jungles are mountains. The bits that are neither are heavily urbanised cities. Civvies with balls and household tools could do them in before the army arrive with the total lack of cohesion any airborne troops dropping in this environment will have.

Just face it, the real target of China is Manchuria and Siberia. Russia has nothing it can use to stop a Chinese land invasion and no one will come to save them either.

It's actually longer, because you've got to load those fresh troops (which takes time) and then by the time you get back to the same landing site - the tides will be wrong so you'll need to wait for those to be right before your reinforcements can get ashore.

A typical ratio might look more like 1:3, which means for every one soldier that died, you have three that are wounded. It also means a quarter or 25% of your casualties are deaths. So if you have 100,000 casualties, under the ratio of 1:3 you have 25,000 dead and 75,000 wounded.
A ratio of 1:1.3 is really bad. It means that almost half of your casualties are dead.

Because to Russia, image is everything. Simply forcing NATO to not do something while everybody involved knows that Russia is doing this shit allows Russia to chest thump. That's it. The whole reason the invasion happened is because CLANKENING happened and nobody did anything and then 2014 happened and nobody did anything. 2022 happened and the West sorta kinda did something and here we are.

If Russia can bully people about in terms of geopolitical stuff, they'll get more money and power for their friends. The average Russian doesn't matter. Just like the UK doesn't give a fuck about their population and strips rights and freedoms weekly for them and they do nothing. Apathy is built into these people.

I think your error is confusing the people (regular citizens) = state, rather than the reality which is politicians/oligarchs/etc = state.

Right but as I said in my post. If they started shit with NATO and NATO acknowledged it was them and actually DID something then Russia can just do the craven thing of backing down going
>You're not evil warmongers are you? We were just messing about haha.....
And make NATO look like the bad guys for actually stamping out a problem. Look at how the world has treated Israel for (regardless of how you view them) stamping out what they percieved as a threat. Over the top? Doing more than they should? Possibly, but that's the argument that would pop up if NATO started sweeping across the fields of Russia all the way to the Urals. So, Russia will bend the knee while hiding a dagger behind their back and NATO will back off and Russia can say they fought NATO to a stand still and are strong blahblahblah nooks. If NATO does nothing (most likely result because states like Germany et al will go 'we don't KNOW it was Russians who attacked Estonia' just like they did in 2014... Except Germany went and built Russia training camps a few years later lmao) then Russia can snigger and going "see, NATO too scared, we're so strong!' and the public will realise this and know this and feel strong too and be distracted from the fact that life is getting worse for the average person.

If you think that if Russia outwardly attacked Estonia (not using little green men like they will) and NATO actually had the testicular fortitude to attack back (without kvetching about NOOKS) then if you think they'd keep going until Russia is balkanised at best or eradicated at worse, you've got a naive attitude. The 'big boys' in NATO would be more worried about locking people up for going 'I'm not too fond on immigrants' and banning them from having free refills for drinks with sugar in them than deleting Russia.

From what I hear it's not just the drones, but what the current state of the fight has done to their entire logistics chain. Forget taking longer to get from triage to a proper medical facility because of manpads, we're talking nobody coming for you if you can't crawl back to the lines. So a lot of people that could've probably been saved even in Russia's field hospitals aren't making it. If they make it back to the lines then they don't get stabilised in time because of limited training and resources. If they get stabilised in time then they still bleed out internally or whatever the fuck before transport can't be organised to proper care, so on. And of course if this was a more mobile war none of this would matter so much, but Russian advances are literally slower than a snail, so you're always going to be down in no-man's land without any hope of the front catching up to you in time to help.
Ukraine's army has had its share of fuckups but they're fuckups, not SOP. I'd never accuse them of the systemic disregard for human life that Russia considers a day at the office.

Right but NATO's reaction would be varied. Remember, the rules do not state
>If NATO is attacked everybody immediately declares war on the attacker
It says that military action is 'up to' point. As in, the final part. Meaning any military reaction would be by and large unilateral from a individual state perspective and then further geopolitical stuff after that. My point is the person I replied to here >>64387729 said that Russia would not exist if they attacked NATO. Which isn't true. NATO wouldn't wipe out Russia, even if it was clear obvious and we had Putin dancing on the corpses of NATO soldiers in Tallinn saying 'We attacked you lol'.

Point is, no matter what happens, Russia can claim they're amazing and help fund the state (that being powerful individuals, not Russia and her people) luxuries in the Western world.

But that doesnt mean that there wouldnt be a generally united response by the major nations in NATO, and the border countries. Romania, Poland and Finland are without a doubt taking action. The EU also has a defense cause and that one explicitly states "42.7. This shall not prejudice the specific character of the security and defence policy of certain Member States."

Taiwan is in range of shitloads of Chink land based batteries. Why would they waste their ships VLS capacity on that. The Chinese navy is geared to fight other navies because if they do ever attack Taiwan, their navy needs to fight and maximally delay the Japanese, Korean and US navies. And whichever other neighbours decide that an aggressive China is an issue. Maybe the Philipines, Vietnam, India etc. Thats also why they have lighter MBTs now. To be able to fight India in the Himalayas if a second front opens up. And they have light taks as support for naval landings, for instance in the case of an island hoping campaing.

Chink force deployment and investment is perfectly geared for their potential threats. As for Russia, a few light infantry divisions with Air Support can mop them up at this stage, no need to invest in much more than that. The Chinks need to only seize Vladivostok and the rail and shipping connections at Lake Baikal and basically the entire Russian Far East has already fallen. There isnt anything there but Taiga.

anons, i get it, but i'm not taking about "do you supposrt the war? then go fight", i'm talking about the "would you fight? here, then sign this" bit. i understand supporting something but not wanting to participate in it directly. i support all the benefits of society but i don't want to work as a trash collector, mend potholes or get into shootouts with criminals.
it's like with all those "refugees welcome" liberal women who said "i'd totally take care of a refugee" on camera and then backpedaled when presented with a form to fill up. it's literally the same shit as with the millbloggers. people are just like that with majority of topics
>should we build water treatment plants? yes, just not close to where i live
>i'd totally go protest law X. well actually i wouldn't cause i'm lazy, but i'll say i would
>should people who burn trash be punished? sure, but not me
>no, people should not have access to abortions. well except when my 16yo daughter gets knocked up, then it's an "exceptional situation"
that last one is something i saw happen btw

It's voluntary until the government decides to "encourage" you to enlist by making some shit up as petty as a false traffic ticket, throwing you in jail, "forgetting" to feed you for three days, and saying "oh you want out? Why not enlist? We'll even give you a big bonus!"

just fear mongering and scare tactics. ziggers get off that shit as in their convict mentality fear=respect. its no coincidence the drone spam in euro space started about the same time. Its beneficial for europe as inoculation doses too as western militaries are grossly unprepared for the drone spam. Even front liners like baltics are just now starting to catch up while back seaters like denmark only started scrambling after FPVs were hovering over their f-35s. if they had any explosives strapped to them could have had a repeat of what the ukranians did with the vatnik bombers

tanks are pretty gimped and niche in the age of fpv drones. at least without cheap and widely available point defense systems. What estonians need and are building for is a shitton of drones. everything ukraine is doing in donbawe is a model how eastern baltic border areas should look like in the coming war

big difference between urkaine and baltic war would be the presence, or lack of, a proper western air force capable of achieving air dominance. seven million israel dominated 90 million iran in its own airspace while 30 million ukraine and 140 million puccia are locked in a stalemate on ground and air
