China physically don't have enough landing craft to pull an invasion off. Their fastest ships, can do the trip in around six hours one way, so it's a 12 hour round trip to go and get reinforcements. So all going well, if by some miracle the first wave doesn't get noticed and fired upon, they can, at their very best, deploy a few thousand light infantry on a beach with pre-sighted artillery with no fire support and a few light vehicles. Good job fuckers, you now have an entire day getting the shit kicked out of you before anymore help can arrive.
The Chinese Navy has geared itself up to fight other ships, not support landing forces, so after they fire off eight-ten cruise missiles, they are now out of the fight for a day and a half, if they are able to dock, reload and return at maximum efficiency. The best they can hope for is that, again, they miraculously get their unnoticed and no one plugs them in the ass as they run off home again.
Paratroopers are a no go, because the parts of Taiwan that aren't swamps and jungles are mountains. The bits that are neither are heavily urbanised cities. Civvies with balls and household tools could do them in before the army arrive with the total lack of cohesion any airborne troops dropping in this environment will have.
Just face it, the real target of China is Manchuria and Siberia. Russia has nothing it can use to stop a Chinese land invasion and no one will come to save them either.
You guys are going to have speak Hindi, Korean or Mandarin in the not-so-far future.
