This but unironically, they'll be a valuable collectible soon. CA is the only reason they kept making them, I have a feeling they'll be discontinued within a year

The firearm itself is great. Tanfoglio handguns are big, heavy, and pretty smooth. Out of the box it isn't as good as a Shadow 2 in terms of trigger feel but they're easier to work on than a Shadow 2 with decent parts availability. You'll struggle a bit more with holster options that aren't custom and it's not going to be a good carry gun ever.

For a first gun it's pointlessly expensive with expensive aftermarket parts compared to the striker gun market. You will have trouble if you want to resell it. You will enjoy shooting it.

why not gen 5?
a g19 was my other choice

i tried a shadow 2 compact and its weight was great, really stable aiming

are the full size steel guns too heavy?

Gen 3 lost it's copyright so everyone makes aftermarket parts. Gen 5 subjectively feels better to me.

The weight difference matters for carry and for recoil. Pointing an ally gun vs a steel gun won't tire you out any differently really.

this inst that great of a selling point since the majority of aftermarket parts are inferior to oem or the only benefit is it looks cool

I have a Witness 10mm and it's fucking great. It's better quality than CZ, it has better fit/finish and much more usable slide serrations. A Tanfoglio is a polished up high quality gun, CZ are just rough fit police guns. They only made it to the competition scene because of their weight.

slide serrations are a meme

Glock only makes the gen 3 still for California so they don't have to pay millions to put a new gen on their approved list, and all Glocks are now banned in California so gen 3 is dunzo. They didn't keep the patent because there's really no reason for that gun to still be being made, except for the California market. It's the worst gen of Glock, slippery grip and your thumb can't reach the mag release without breaking grip. It's a platform that poors love because even cheaper shit brands have copied it. If you want a low quality cheap gun there are other options, if you want a poly striker that actually works and doesn't jam get an M&P. If you must have your notraining accessories at least get the gen 5 jamfection.

For a gun like a CZ that already has such a skinny slide that you pretty much have to slingshot like a notraining, the serrtions do matter. You have very little slide to grab with that design, under stress you're gonna grab the frame and that obviously doesn't result in a rack so you die.

It's the opposite, tanfo triggers are much better than anything CZ that isn't custom made
