You don't seem to understand the important legal distinction between de facto and de jure. FRTs/SS are de facto full auto, because they allow you hold the trigger down and the gun keeps firing. What they are not is de jure full auto because the trigger is going to its full reset and it's still only firing one round with one "pull" of the trigger.

According to the BATFE between 2004-2007, a shoe string was a firearm capable of firing more than one bullet per trigger pull... even though there is no place to load a bullet to be fired nor is there a trigger.
That's what happens when the government doesn't have to follow definitions as set by law.
There is a reason the executive branch isn't supposed to have the unchecked power of the chevron deference.
Forced reset triggers follow the definitions.
In order for people to be capable of following the law, our government must also be restricted by the exact words of the law. Making up new and exciting (and false) definitions to fit the temporary whims of the societal elite isn't a government for or by the people. There is simply no way to follow laws that aren't written down.

Forced reset is honestly better in most ways for a number of reasons, if your goal is suppressive or indirect fire. The rate of fire is typically faster than select fire. It's easier to do controlled bursts. It's easier to install. The downside is less ability to control recoil or accuracy. If I were trying to convert a PCC or LMG, I would choose forced reset over select fire.
