Idgi. Why not just use overtuned springs to reliably ram everything into place 100% of the time and compensate with higher pressure ammo to push everything back 100% of the time?

It has saved me from having to re-rack the bolt and pick up an ejected cartridge if I drop it closed too gently after checking the chamber.

I think hyper-burst or duplex still has potential to increase hit probability, caseless could work with the right propellant and high energy propellants could be worth while.
It's just going to mean taking a risk which militaries really don't like doing so we'll stagnate until someone makes the first move and everyone races to catch up.

if the round doesnt fully go into battery, you FA it to seat it properly.

FA can close the bolt quietly. if you ease your ar bolt foreward very quietly and gently, it will not close 100%. this can be closed using the FA.

thats a reason I hated the PTR. no matter what you do, the fuckin thing announces every move it makes.

if you FA when theres a jam or FTE, or stove pipe, you will make the problem worse. use the thing what it was made to do, or continue being a retard wondering why your "jam button" is making jars of jam.

YES AND IF THE OBSTRUCTION IS BAD ENOUGH THE FORWARD ASSIST IS GOING TO MAKE IT WORSE. That's my whole point. There is a reason the cartridge won't seat properly and the forward assist doesn't care what it is. Can be dirt, can be a piece of the rim. And just chancing it is never a good idea. Unless of course you're under fire and have the choice of using the forward assist or getting ventilated.
