1P63 Obzor.
>7 years old, starting to get dim, take it apart to see if it can be relamped
>mostly injection molded zinc, which isn't the worst thing about it but I expected better for military gear
>cover plates sealed with grease
>screws sealed with grease
>screw tension all over the goddamned place, including stripped
>screws in the same subassembly different sizes for no reason
>flat had screws all around
>tritium tube is damned near the size of a AAA battery but the inside is mostly coated with opaque paint, so forget about an easily sourced replacement
>fortunately a 3x11mm gray market Chinese tritium vial is about as bright as this piece of shit was when it was new, but you're on your own for adapting it to the Obzor housing
I'm not surprised by Russian gear being a bit fucked, but this was a serious WTF moment. You don't have to worry about this right now because none of the real ones are for sale*, but when they do eventually hit the market again, remember that you're buying something that a drunken mongoloid made in their garage apparently. Pay accordingly. The $400 that I paid was about $350 too much. Chinkshit airsoft gear is unironically a better bang for your buck.
>and remember, this was their fancy high tech gear with tritium and sheeeeeeit
*Fake Chinese airsoft versions are for sale, and while I have no experience with them, I can't imagine that they're any worse. This is equivalent to some shit that a teenager came up with. I'm actually embarrassed on Russia's behalf that they not only made this, but allowed one of these to leave their country so that someone else might see what they're making there.
