1,000 Pumas for the German army
they're intended to fully replace the ~400 remaining Marders + form an extra reserve

the order hasn't been placed yet but is apparently coming in 2026, cost around 14 bn euros

the Pumas are also said to receive cUAS capability

info based on procurement office sources

Useless in the age of drones and especially considering Russia's successful new missile. It would be wrong to dismiss anything out of Russia hatred. Yes, we don't like them but we have to take them very seriously and at this point I'm very concerned about our efforts.

>Why do the hans name all their tanks After felinids
the tradition started with the tiger, initially an informal nickname because it was ridiculously large and heavily gunned for its time
then they named the panther because it had the same engine as the tiger but weighted 10 tons less, so they named it panther because it was leaner and more agile

> and russians After T-#, and americana M#,
T and M are both just model numbers
the US started naming their vehicles after generals due to the influence of the british, who dubbed the M3 as the lee and modified M3s as the grant to tell them apart from each other and the tradition continued

the germans also had a generic numerical naming scheme, the panzerkampfwagen Is through VIII
they dropped it in favor of just using the nickname as the model number
so kampfwagen leopard 1 and 2
it helps that armored vehicles arent replaced by new models nearly as quickly, so there isnt much need for a generic model number naming system

>frogs and bongs
french used the AMX-number naming scheme for most of the cold war and only dropped it with the leclerc
british still use the FV-number naming scheme for vehicles, with the challenger 2 being FV4034

From their tax income, taken from the largest economy in Europe, one that btw makes somewhere around three times as much money as Russia does.

>or even the energy to run the factories?
Their very intact and functioning power generation infrastructure? What kind of retarded question is that, even?

>VW just went broke
[citation needed]

Oh wait, I remember. Isn't this is some cope story that's making the rounds in Russia right now? Somethign about some zigger court and a buncha vultures trying to declare VW insolvent for ceasing operations in Russia? Because countries that don't use uniform type designation systems are legitimately savage retards that don't deserve the hardware they dare to lay their wretched claws on. Nicknames come second after official designation, not first.
Also, the British and other countries do in fact designate their equipment like that, (Challenger 2 is FV4034), it's just not frequently mentioned. Moreover, most US tanks that saw service did have names, the M60 and M103 were exceptions.

Europe beating the piss out of Russia was never in doubt, but it would still cause damage in europe and kill europeans. So the build up is to ensure that Russia actually fucking gets it that they have no chance. Otherwise they will do dumb shit as we have already seen in Ukraine. The Russian cannot be trusted with decision making and will choose actions that make everyone miserable including Russia. Of course the best option would be TZD as death is the state in which the Russian does not commit warcrimes and other atrocities.

Puma was built for the specific requirements of the Bundeswehr (which included a very high level of protection for an IFV, hence it's a pretty heavy vehicle), with little mind paid to export orders or making the design able to be modified beyond those specific requirements. Which could as a result be put higher than what would be feasible on a more modular plattform.

Lynx meanwhile took a few lessons from Puma and makes use of a bunch of already existing components, while being designed to be more modular and flexible, so that export customers can further adapt it to their specific needs.
