>Realistically, How Easily Could America’s Military take Canada?
Depends on the politics, unironically. If you take some idealized scenario where America was essentially unified (say like 70-90% popular support behind a president of similar margin) in the need to conquer Canada, and thus willing to tolerate significant cost over a long time period, and Canadians were demoralized because a lot of them thought the US had a point (only way to get that much of the Americans behind it, say somehow a nazi regime came to power over the leafs and launched attacks on the US or some crazy shit)? Then America would of course gigglestomp them. Leaf military is ultra weak since they've always had an invincible adamant shield in the USA and wanted to spend on other stuff instead. They have a huge land border and all their pop and industry concentrated near it. It'd be over practically before it began. No foreign support would be incoming either, US owns both ponds for now. Canada has zero chance in that regard.
But more realistically, to the extent any of this involves any realism, is some highly unpopular American admin going full retard. There is basically zero appetite amongst the US public for such a stupid endeavor, and outright hate towards the idea from a plurality if not majority. And definitely a majority of states actually at the Canadian border. Which means not merely political opposition but endless sabotage and cheerful help in directing weapons over the border into leaf hands etc. Leaf morale and patriotism is a real wildcard and their shitty lib governments have worked hard to disarm them but they certainly have the sort of territory needed for stupid levels of guerilla warfare and insurgency. They wouldn't need to win outright just hold out until the US left which is quite doable.
