Okay, but you understand we also stopped making movies about ninjas and karate, right?
They made a Roadhouse remake and the main character is a UFC fighter. Because hand to hand combat has been demystified, even though the average person doesn't know shit about fighting, they'll think "if this fucking ninja martial arts shit is so good, why isn't everyone who trains it a UFC champion?".
This has happened not just with weapons, which many people grew up using virtually in videogames, but gang warfare itself. People have seen CCTV or dashcam of gang warfare and it's not a bunch of bikers two steps removed from a Mad Max setting.
What I'm saying is that back in the day you could sell the audience absolute bullshit.

You're wrong. There's absolutely "we listed all the mistakes in this Fast & Furious racing scene" kind of content in the car world. Fighter pilots now have podcasts and they're asked by the audience to react not just to movies but even other youtube videos of people playing DCS.
Speaking of frame by frame, there's MOVIE NITPICK content so how could you miss that?
There's also shit where Krav Maga instructors or MMA coaches are asked to review movie fights and nitpick.
