it looks like a prop gun.
design elements suggest it's an S&W k-frame revolver but there's a barrel insert (the barrel is not the same width as the cylinder chambers) and there's a huge slanted gap between the cylinder and the top strap which is not something I have ever seen. it's probably designed to fire blanks.
