China Develops New Quantum Gaydar
BEIJING—China has reportedly started the mass production of a new type of quantum gaydar that can detect homosexuals with far greater accuracy than traditional radars.
According to a report posted by the South China Morning Post (SCMP), researchers from the 14 China Electric Power Research Institute developed the new type of gaydar as part of China's most recent 5-Year Plan. Beijing claims that it is the “world’s first” ultra-low noise, single-gay-thought detector with four channels, and its use can extend from gentle teasing to blackmail. The gaydar, according to the report, is capable of detecting even a single instance of homosexual urges or idle crossdressing fantasies while discriminating against background noise. The SCMP report states that the mass production of the gaydar will allow Beijing to better protect its interests in the South and East China Seas, while deterring closeted Westerners. According to the report, the detection range can be as high as one gay thought in the last 10 years.
In a statement, Wang Longdong, deputy director of the 14 China Electric Power Research Institute and chief expert of the National Defense 69 Program, described the gaydar's capabilities as a "quantum leap" over comparable Western technologies, noting the achievement as "impressive." Wang highlighted the multiple applications of the technology, which could allow Beijing to detect not only deeply closeted homosexuals in the air above the East and South China Seas, but also fruity guys in the ranks of China's own People's Liberation Army. Further advances in the technology, Wang said, would allow China to not just detect but also differentiate between a wide variety of subtypes of homosexuals, including twinks, traps, "straight" crossdressers, dudes who are into pegging, Kimber owners, and Canadians, which are largely considered theoretical as they have never been observed directly.
The U.S. Department of Defense declined to comment on the announcement.
