The USMC has helicopters, artillery batteries which can be planted in hardened positions along the entire mountain range and have an easy time hitting coastal targets. They have anti-FPV drone capabilities. More importantly because you bodged the timeline he's had time to dig in. This is Iwo Jima except the enemy has a much better capacity to strike back. Every second you delay the USMC hardens it's position more. He's getting food supplies, ammunition, Stinger missiles, javelins, and men and will add another 15,000 marines within a month. He has hardened communications which are resistant to denial of service attacks and you can expect the US Navy to support them however possible.

The thing is, if the Chink did invade Taiwan, the first thing they have to do is sending their entire fleet undetected and have to avoid the entire Japanese and Korean Navy fleet. Chink do not have any naval experience at all and their last major navy battle was with Vietnam.
