Have you ever seen a refinery up close?
They're quite big.
A small drone poking a hole in a pipe and starting a fire doesn't wipe shit out, that can usually be fixed in days. If not sometimes hours.

Many key components in refineries are proprietary, licensed technology custom-built by Western companies.
Russia does not have the ability to replace them in any way.

They'll still be able to push out mazut, kerosene and diesel, mind you, but proper gasoline production gets depleted with each Western-built tower or unit.

The US will do everything in its power to not have this happen. Contrary to vatnigs and their shills constant screaming about muh West is trying to destroy muh glorious Russia, the US doesn't want to have to worry about vatnigs selling nukes to anyone with cash, and all their scientists and engineers running to whatever country will pay them the most for their knowledge. Nor does the US want to give them billions of USD to help their economy and pay to clean up/decommission Russia's nuclear fuck-ups, and even more billions in humanitarian aid like we had to when the USSR collapsed, and during WWI and WWII. The US wants to give just enough to depleted Russia's military and stagnant it for decades, and to force them to go the fuck home and stop invading sovereign countries.

> According to a statement by Oleksiy Kucherenko on April 22, 2025, Ukraine buys Russian gas via the TurkStream pipeline, even though direct transit through its territory has ceased. Kucherenko explained that due to the interconnected European gas market, it is impossible to identify the exact origin of the gas molecules and Ukraine is "de facto" buying Russian gas through this route, which also supplies Serbia and Hungary. This purchase is done through international traders, as Ukraine terminated its contract with Gazprom for direct transit to Europe at the start of 2025.
