This was always the intended outcome when NATO agreed to allow donated items to Ukraine to count against the NATO funding target for the nations doing the donations.

Germany, at the start, didn't do shit because they didn't want to upset Russia and thought it'd be over quickly. It took the Bongs constantly breaking 'red lines' for Germans to be guilt forced into helping. They then quickly started using EU funds to claim they're the 2nd best helper of Ukraine via purely economic stuff. But they won't send Taurus. The amount of excuses they've made why they can't (and called the Bongs 'warmongers' by claiming they had sent soldiers to fire Storm Shadows for Ukraine) were hilarious and thankfully everybody has forgotten about it as the Ukraine war has just flat out been forgotten.
