The only negative I've heard is they need more maintenance than striker fired pistols. There's even law enforcement officers that use them, so they seem safe and reliable. Anecdotal though.

There are some respectable 9mm ammo these days, but most of them are +P+. At least Fort Scott makes a 9mm ammo that penetrates 3A at just +P.
I wish 38 Super would become popular again. It's what 9mm should have always been.

These are competition guns, you're not supposed to carry it in your glovebox and feed it shitty steel case ammo. In fact, the whole niche behind 1911 platforms chambered for 9mm is because many shooting discilplines only allow 9mm to compete, so people who prefer the 1911 platform could compete only with a different cartridge. That's also why .38 Super got popular for a while because technically it's still a 9mm round.
