Esmarch bandages / Zhguts.
Why anglosphere is completely unaware of modern esmarch bandages (zhgut)? I was trying to search more info about tactical application of it on the EN sources cause they are usually better but could find anything. Do you really use only tourniquets?
Esmarch bandages are low-tech (less of things in it to go wrong), cost way less (even the best models like picrel is only 13$, while the classic emsarch bandage is only 2$), and can be applied both to upper and lower limbs.

Esmarchs are cut off during surgery which is risky, while CATs can be eased off gradually with the windlass. CATs can also be put on with one hand. I will concede that everybody who is serious about this shit should know how and have practiced applying makeshift TQs out of a belt or rope, but otherwise modern TQ designs are so ubiquitous and user friendly there is no reason to fuck with rubber bands.

>user friendly
Imagine someone finding you unconscious/unfunctional and trying to understand how to use CAT he never seen before vs Just wrapping esmarch band around.

If it's one thing I've seen from police bodycam videos it's that retards without training have zero business applying tourniquets.
