What defensive structures, hypothetically speaking, are enough to demoralize government agents from ever challenging you in the first place?

In all honesty, fences and, a locked gate, and being known as someone who would go down shooting has been enough for them to just call me to ask me to come down and talk to them. Once I involve my lawyer they fuck off.

Except the government gets the rest of the society to turn against you. Like I said, they *will* crush you. As long as those at the top remain in power, and you are in a cage or a casket, it doesn't matter to them how it's done or the cost in bodies that aren't theirs.

The best defense against the feds is to not fit their current profile of a problem, combined with not having anything they want. Pay your taxes, don't engage in interstate black market commerce, and stay away from extremist honey pot movements, they're not there to help you, they're there to either profit from your "martyrdom" or are run by the feds themselves. Probably both. If you are doing anything the local law enforcement thinks they can get extra funding for arresting you for, stop. Know your neighbors, know people in town, don't be the weird loner that nobody will speak favorably of when the media comes to cover whatever you're in the feds sights for.
If you're doing anything legal but the feds don't like it, make sure you are lawyered up, have the backing of a rights group specific to that activity, and are too public about what you are doing and why for police misinformation to turn the public against you.
Pay your taxes. This cannot be emphasized enough. If you are doing something legal that the feds, or any level of government doesn't like, the way they will finally get you is taxes or permit fees. Even if the taxes or permit fees are unfair, illegal, or unconstitutional, unless you first get legal relief from a judge your whole fucking life will already be fucked six ways from Sunday if you refuse to pay beforehand. Failure to pay taxes is enough to get your ass Waco'ed if it's enough of a theoretical profit for the US to make an example of you.
If all of this sounds "cucked" to you, you best be prepared to lose absolutely everything you have to make your point. If that happens we will all remember you fondly, but it won't do you any good personally.
