/k/omrades
My dog passed this morning and I didn't get to hold her. I took her out squirrel hunting once but she wasn't very good at it, too interested in smelling random things. I wish I took more pictures of her. Do you have a faithful four legged /k/omrade? Can you share some pictures of them /k/.

is the dog alive or dead in that pic. You should have taken more pics and spent more time with the dog, you are all the dog had

My dog passed in 2021 at the age of 4. It sucks anon. It really does.

There's not a day that goes by where I don't think about him. I remember the day I brought him home. I did everything I could even when he started getting seizures.

Sometimes it just happens. It was kinda the beginning of a depression spiral for me.

He had epilepsy that started at 2. The vet tried to say with proper medication he'd get better, but after constant adjustments of various medications, he never really improved. Treating dog seizures isn't much of a science, it's really throwing various meds at the problem and seeing what works. The seizures would go away for a few months but then they would come back.

I just unfortunately had to make the decision to put him down. He was too gentle of a boy to make him suffer. I sometimes wonder if maybe CBD or THC treats would have helped him, but no sense in dwelling on what could have been done I guess.

That pic is a few years old, I used it since it's the most /k/ picture I had of her. I had a good 18 years with her but I still wish I hadn't been on orders when she passed. My family was there and she was always my mother's dog first.
This was the most recent one I had from about 2 weeks ago. She woke up and fell asleep again before she could get out of her blanket nest.

That's a real shame anon, it always hurts when you know they had so much ahead of them.

>I didn't get to hold her
I'm sorry, I know how much that can hurt. I hope you enjoyed all the time you got to share with her. One of my dogs we put down a couple years back I wasn't there for, and I hate myself for it. Raised her since she was a puppy, had her for about 15 years. She started vomiting and wasn't eating one day and my mother took her to the vet to see what was up, and I didn't go because I thought she might be fine. Turned out it was kidney failure, and she had her put down while there so she didn't suffer any longer. I should've gone, and I should've taken more pictures of her when she was still with us.

Pic is a puppy we got not too long ago, she's an absolute sweetheart. I think she'll be the last dog I'll get though. I've had to part with so many before her, and still have another four aside from her I'll have to part with as well one day. I'm tired of having to say goodbye to the those I love.

I'm so sorry, Anon. It's true what they say, you know. ALL dogs go to Heaven.

I lost my 12 yo pibbie about 9 months ago, now. I know it's a meme and everyone says it, but it's true, she was perfect. Perfect behavior, perfect obedience, perfect appearance, everything. It takes all I have not to be angry at the universe she's gone, and to be glad that I had all the time I did with her, but it goes by so very, very fast, doesn't it?

Hail Trixie! Hail! Hail! Hail!

I'm right there with you, Anon. I lost my bestest of all doggos and beyond soul mate recently and I know that I'll never quite be able to love another as much, or as well, and I'm not sure my heart can take losing another. It took me 10 years between my last dog, before I got her, but I don't have another decade to wait, but being alone isn't good either. There are many, many doggos that want and need love, so we should give them as much as we can.

Dogs Rule!

Here OP, me and one of my dogs. She's been an incredibly faithful friend. Not very good at sleeping in a tent though. The thought of her dying in the next 5-6 years keeps me awake at night, and I am sorry you lost your pal. I'll give my dogs an extra treat for you tonight.

Great

Depends
If a dog imprints on you as a pup you'll always be first among equals. That's what I discovered with mine.

RIP puppo.

I had a similar looking dog, mine was a Maltese shitzu and died before turning 14. We came over one night, by the next day it all went down hill. Her liver readings were very very high, no white blood cells etc.. (we think cancer)

Funny enough i had a similar photo of my dog, i put my old chest rig over her.

It's a very shit feel losing a dog.
