How come theres 1911's still made today in .38 pooper (semi rimmed, low but not 0 demand) but not .32 acp (semi rimmed, low but not 0 demand)? I thought free markets were supposed to meet demand and make money, i would wager .32 acp would have even higher demand than .38 super in a commander or micro size

1) because 38super was the right cartridge in the first place, JMB knew it, John Dillinger knew it and actually told the FBI they needed to switch if they wanted to defeat bullet proof vests of the time
2) it was popular in "no military cartridges for civilians" nations where you couldn't own 9mm or 45 pistols (so it's the quintessential gucci cartel gun)
3) until 357 it was the most powerful handgun round you could (easily) pick up anywhere in the country

Also 38 SuperComp is a rimless 38 super with modern projectiles and loads that's easy to get and drops in with no modifications. 124gr @ 1550fps from a 5" and 10+1 capacity

Pic related, John Dillinger used a full auto 38suoer 1911 as a PDW because it could defeat early body armor (silk and ballistic nylon vests) and light cover (ford V8 steel car bodies) that stopped 38 and 45
