>just a piece of plastic
This looks a lot like when Colt blocked their 20-round magazines with a piece of U-shaped spring steel and a rivet. It was the beginning of Colt trying to "meet the gun grabbers half way"
In pic rel it's the 3rd mag up from the bottom.
>drill out the rivet
>remove floor plate
>remove U-shaped block
>reattach floor plate
>fully functional 20-round magazine
Colt gave the gun grabbers a win and a platform to stand on. It was an inconvenience for the gun owner but it legitimized the concept of 10-round magazines / "high capacity" magazines.
You never, EVER give the fucking gun grabbers anything. They'll take it and then come back for more. Every fucking time.

California very much requires a LCI, CLI, and mag disconnect safety on all newly added roster handguns.
Over 20 years ago when the roster was created the Gen 3 models were grandfathered onto it along with other guns that didn't have the safety features but were already being sold so they added them, then closed the door.
The reason California has no on roster Gen 4 or 5 pistols is because Glock doesn't want to comply with the requirements.
Now that they have a brand new "V" model, they will most certainly have to comply by adding the LCI, CLI, and MDM if they want to sell
Anonymous No.64502625 [Report]
Didn't Glock say that everything in the V is going to be different from other gens?

Glocks kinda have a chamber loaded indicator. The extractor is flush when the gun is unloaded. When the gun is loaded the extractor sticks out.

I don't know if CA is cool with that as an "Indicator".

With the way the California law is worded they might be able to bypass the mag disconnect and LCI requirements if they claim all the changes were necessary to block switches.

i don't think so, new guns on the list must abide by the various requirements and they are new guns outright.
I think half the reason they might is now they won't have to do the fictious microstamping or 'safe gun' tech that they adopted a few years ago and was thrown out.

Guns are tools, I derive pleasure from their utility, not looking at them.

I've shot all the competitors and I shoot glocks best. The only thing I shoot better is my 2011 but that's purely a match gun. I could see the M&P being better if I raced it out but I have little desire to do so. Glocks are already so good with little to no work.

If you're curious how my glocks are setup they're basically a mirror of Stoeger's glocks i.e. grip tape, optic, apex trigger on half of them, that's it.

I personally drive a 2004 VW Passat with a v6, because you can pick them up for pennies with no miles.
Nobody wants them because they are a nightmare to work on, but my commute is 40 miles each way and they are extremely comfortable and quiet inside.
If you're comfortable with the fact that you're going to be cursing at the vehicle and doing bizarre repairs every other month, they're great.

Waiting on the wings I've got a backup 2000 f150 and an 80s Volvo with 200k on it.
There's no real reason for me to "upgrade" to a new car. I don't want "car play" or self driving, I don't need a backup camera, automatic braking or lane change assistance, and I despise the fact that everything basically comes with a cellular modem sending back spyware telemetry constantly now.
I can't fathom how anyone can be comfortable with this shit.
I will probably just keep buying ancient beaters until I'm dead.

They should have put a small 3 banger with 120~140hp. It would have actually been affordable and simple. Down the road, they could come out with a 4 cylinder engine with closer to 180hp.
