all it has to do is plug the tanks gun with it's trunk and it wins

but only once :(

This but an ATGM.

1. Long range capabilities via ATGM
2. Close range capabilities via elephant melee
3. No fuel needed as the elephant can eat grass or something

thats not an elephant defeating it then, thats just an atgm killing a tank

How would the ATGM system get to the frontline without the elephant carrying it? They're both putting in 50% of the work here.

You still have to close the distance unless you're only going to use it as part of an ambush.

Airdrop the elephant without a pararchute.

Swim or otherwise go somewhere a tank can’t, exploit the elephants ability to navigate complicate terain that a tank may struggle with.
Anonymous No.64503785 [Report]
if it was made out of something really hard like depleted uranium and its tusks were made out of depleted uranium and it could stab the tank with its tusks maybe. Or if it could shrink really small like any man and get inside the tank and then go back to full size and pop off the turret probably

Elephants are supposed to be about as smart as a 14 year old human or so (which is genius by animal kingdom standards), ergo you should theoretically be able to teach them things you could teach a child soldier, therefore you SHOULD be able to teach them how to operate some kind of anti-tank weapon.

The question is thus, what anti-tank weapon exists which an elephant would be able to successfully manipulate with their trunk?

Not saying the elephant would be guaranteed a victory or anything, but that the elephant could have a realistic chance to win and survive against the tank if having the weapon and being able to use it.

>>64503746
That might actually work on some lighter tanks, but it's the same problem of plugging the bore with its trunk, the elephant won't survive that either.

>>64503775
That'd be something for survival at least, but the elephant needs to figure out how to eliminate the tank.

>>64503786
This could MAYBE work, but the chance of survival is very low still, those are a suicide attack.

The elephant in the room implies any room has an elephant in it.
Tank has room inside the armor.
Therfore, elephants have always breached tank hull regardless if the tank crew wants to address it or not.

Give the elephant a tank it can fit inside and drive. Have it fire at the other tank. Spare rounds can be stored in the trunk. Next question.

It's just got to be further down the "cyborg animals" skill tree than the tank is down the "mechanical monster" skill tree

And you have an elephant?

In any case, the 8.8 cm Pak 43/2 L/71 means you're in with a chance against older tanks or on a good angle against rear/side armour..
