Gender dysphoria is something you are born with—that much we are sure of. For that reason, trans women disseminate the idea that trans women are born the way they are.
However, you'd have to be seriously cognitively dissonant to not acknowledge that someone who transitioned from male to female at some time had to experience 'male' life.
