Regretful atheist. I was a pretty hardcore right winger. Not just online. I was raised by 80yo dying segregationist southerners. I did not consider black people homo sapiens and found them scary. When Russia invaded Ukraine I was forced to confront the reality of what I advocated for. It kinda broke me. Most of my friends were Russian or Ukrainian. Now? I have realized my best friend was actually right in high school. Social democracy is as good as my country could be given. Race is insignificant. Gender isn’t magic its mostly just language/culture. I went to the no kings protest nearest me. I think repping gave me brain damage. When I was little I thought daemons made you trans/gay. Im an environmentalist at my core. Climate change is my enemy. Not everyone needs something to hate but I do. I redirected my hate to those actually destroying what I love. This world. It’s peoples, critters, and plants. God is us. Life that knows what it is. Fire piloting dust. I feel a sense of religious awe just thinking about Earth. Don’t you ever feel like you’ve received communion from seeing another’s eyes? I do not value self much. If fools didn’t laugh it wouldn’t be the great Dao. We’re the only thing on this planet that both knows it is and has nukes. We will not be here a long time in the grand scheme. I am a wound in time waiting to be closed. This is painting a somber picture but in my heart I am happy. The impermanence of things is what gives them meaning. If God is real and truly all works will be brought into judgement. I ask to help judge the works of the Permian mammal like reptiles. I would want to see the beginning of our class mammalia. my overall disposition stayed the same but i've become less "woke" i guess. i've been anticlerical and socialist since i had a political conscience because my parents raised me that way, my mom in particular drilled it into me that the church were scumbags and told me about the atrocities they committed like the magdalene laundries and ann lovett and so on. i've stayed the same in this sense but i've become a bit more conservative on social issues and especially immigration whereas when i was younger i was super open-minded and in favour of everything. in saying that the world was just a different place in the late 2010s. in ireland we hadn't really started to see the true impact of mass immigration yet, now we have. i've gotten way more truscummy with regards to my opinions on trans stuff too.
