I think it’s funny though like Queer was never part of LGBTQ, the Q meant questioning. Queer was just a slur for fags. And then they added the Q around the same time people were trying to reclaim it and use it for tumblr genderlarping so most people just assumed that’s what the Q meant and it became normalized

It's used loosely to mean 'anything that doesn't fall neatly into categories' nowadays but traditionally it's been used to specifically denote politically radical deconstructionists who consider all labels and categories to be semantic constructs and are fluid in sexuality and gender expression. A practical example that crosses over between old (say 70s) and today's usage (and I've met ones from both generations) would be very butch leather AFAB lesbians who microdose T as a body mod and present more masc than plenty of basedjak cis men but still call themselves lesbians despite having facial stubble from T. They're not exactly trans but they're not exactly cis either. 'Queer' just goes down easier in conversation than trying to fit into a specific box.
