hello to all of my frens on /lgbt/! this is poopanon reporting in. it certainly seems like every day there's something new to worry about, doesn't it? today i'd like to remind my frens who may be feeling scared or isolated to take a little break from life sometimes to focus on the real things. we humans like to try to predict the future a lot, we concern ourselves with the "what if?"s all too often. maybe you'd like to take a walk, or read a book, or take a nap, or do yoga, or do anything that lets you disconnect for a little bit. maybe take a bit of extra time when you go poop to just sit with yourself and let yourself be a human for a while. we are human beings, not human doings. did you know it's estimated that our ancestors many millenia ago used to spend up to 70% of their waking hours doing... nothing? not much of anything at all! i think we would all benefit from letting ourselves take a break and become bored every once in a while.
i will be a bit busy today but poopanon is here if you have anything you want to share. please stay strong for me!

Hello, poopanon.

The societal pressure to always be 'doing something' (and succeeding at it) is a pervasive one. Thank you for the reminder that, in an info-stressful time, boredom is to be appreciated rather than avoided.

This reminded me of a Crywank song-lyric:
"Complain that I'm bored, when being bored is a privilege."

the entire way american approaches "grind culture" and all that is so incredibly toxic! a lot of the influencers who like to flex on people and suggest stuff like mouth-taping are just rich and privileged, plain and simple. for the rest of us, the best thing to do in life is work hard but rest even harder. there is no need to be on the grindset 24/7, you will just burn yousrelf out.
i like the lyric you posted! being bored really is a privilege, many people would love to have the luxury of having nothing to do. but we can always find some time for ourselves even in the chaos, you just have to let yourself have it.

he has a collapsed nostril unfortunately :( he's an older fella. he's just turned 25, which is the maximum life expectancy of a gray seal in the wild. he's healthy aside from a cloudy eye and silly nose though, and still likes to do tricks!

i often have trouble pooping. iโ€™m eating high fiber and drinking lots of water which has helped, but things can still slow down causing me to push out dark, dry stool. it worries me a lot because my dad died of colorectal cancer and iโ€™ve put a lot of stuff up my butt in the past. iโ€™m trying to meet with a doctor so i can have them take a look at my insides but itโ€™s taking a while to get seen. iโ€™m going to start taking frequent high-temperature baths and undergo prolonged fasting to reset my body and clear out any potential cancer that i might have. i have to wait until after saturday though because iโ€™m celebrating an important birthday and it would be rude to not participate in eating

i've liked manatees ever since i was a kid, i agree it's very sad we can't go hug them... but it's safest for them that they don't get too used to humans :( there's a reason most manatees have scars on them...
>>40113915
i think there's probably less extreme methods of improving your pooping habits you may want to try first nona. physical activity can help get your gut moving, and it's important to remember there is a difference between soluble and insoluble fiber. too much insoluble fiber can cause those big rocky dry poops. have you ever tried psyllium husk supplements, like metamucil? the psyllium husk forms a kinda gel inside your bowels that helps keeps thing soft and moving along. poop becomes dry when your body absorbs water out of it as it stays in your bowels, but psyllium husk actually absorbs water more readily and doesn't dry out.

thanks yeah i should probably exercise. i want to. i take psyllium husk and sometimes miralax and it helps. iโ€™m really hopeful that the dark parts of my stool are due to kidney beans. all i eat anymore is soup and i make it with kidney beans, so maybe that could explain the color. and that iโ€™ve just been dehydrated to cause the dryness. i get so scared thinking about it though, a few years ago i wouldnโ€™t have cared about dying but i finally have my life in a good place and am excited about my future. iโ€™m definitely fasting though, even if there are no health benefits (there are) it would be nice spending less on groceries and experiencing the blissful euphoria of ketosis

well i won't tell you what to do, just please be careful! it's important to take in proper electrolytes along with your water, otherwise drinking too much water can deplete your electrolytes and that does NOT feel good. the dark parts of your stool could be a variety of things, from diet to just the simple fact it has been in your body for a long time. a lot of people don't know this, but a pretty big quantity of your poop is made up of dead cells, bacteria, etc.
i think you may want to speak with a doctor about your current diet and your concerns about your health. i dont think you have cancer, but i'm not a doctor!

>this has been weighing on me
weighing on your tummy specifically? :p
i know cancer is a very scary thing. my own mom had cancer TWICE. and i'm terribly sorry to hear about your father passing away as a result of it. it can be so scary to see someone you love just wasting away like that. my neighbor who i love dearly is currently suffering through colorectal cancer :(
the best thing you can do for your tummy right now is avoid alcohol, try to exercise where you can, and try to eat a varied diet. there is a lot about our tummies and cancer that we still do not know, but what we do know is our gut microbiome has a huge impact on our health. it's good that you're consuming prebiotic fiber, that stuff is like food for the healthy microbes in your tummy. keep that up, and try to get some exercise in however you can! yoga, calisthetics, there are plenty of ways to get some exercise that don't even require you to leave your room.
