do epilators actually work? are they worth using? or is it just a meme. i cant afford laser and my upper lip shadow is going to make me kill myself i dont want to have to put on makeup just to look at myself in the mirror and not vomit.

they’re worth it but they hurt A LOTTTTTT

but the skin is way smoother and it takes way longer for the hair to regrow

but yeah the pain is uh real.

do not epilate your face
it will fuck your skin up so bad

how much can you afford nona? you could save up for an IPL machine maybe, its cheaper than getting someone else to do laser or electro

huh? wuh? is it really?? because if we are talking about the same thing here that will take me over a year to save for but probably more if i still want to have a cushion to fall back on and not totally rape myself financially...

i epilate everything except facial hair, armpits & groin. far superior! go at it like 2x20 mins per day and switch between areas as needed. the pain is sooo worth it

theyre fine for your legs/arms/body
dont use them on your face or pubes.

most home ipl's arent going to be powerful enough to do your beard/mustache/pubes.
but they'll be good for the finer hairs if you can dedicate ipl sessions 1-2x a week for some years, they'll help a little bit.

ipl and epilator can get fine thin hair np if it has some melanin in it. not good for man thick beard/pube tier hairs though.

epilator will rip your lip off.
then you will have a woundstache.

no they do not work

repeat they do not work

in the dark bleak days of repping i bought one intending to epilate my face with it. it was like having my face skinned off but i still used it for hours every day. gave me a bunch of sore inflamed pores, was EXTREMELY slow also.

do hard waxing instead

does waxing get rid of the shadow? or mitigate it? thats the big issue i have. i dont mind shaving my face every 1-2 days.

it takes the hairs out from the root so yeah there will be less shadow, you'll have to grow the hair out for a week or two though so the wax has enough to stick to

it tears the hair out at the root so theres no black bit under the skin
if you skin is pale from receiving less sunlight due to facial hair it cant resolve that instantly

dont bother with wax. you have to let your beard grow for a week or two, maybe a motnh depending on genes/time on hrt. its not worth a damn and it makes laser harder and gives u ingrowns every time.

>its not worth a damn

i did laser two years ago and i still had patchy bits i had to shave every day, i grew it out for a week and waxed it and for the first time i dont have to shave daily and have a smooth face. i didnt even have that after 10 sessions of laser.

congrats but itll last like a week and then youll have to leave it unshaved for another week. thats worse than shaving constantly imo but my shadow isnt noticeable until 24+ hours

it takes like 6+ weeks for waxed hairs to regrow, hair comes in cycles. also plucking hairs does weaken them over time, some of them will just not grow back or grow back slower and weaker. it is much much better than shaving

That’s why you use ingrown hair treatment or exfoliate.

I actually kind of enjoy pain sometimes and an epilator was unbearable. I think i was sobbing after finishing just the front of my shin. I might just be a bitch tho

make sure the skin is firm and not loose or it'll get spun up into the epilator and may also give you abrasions, it will hurt. most epilators have emergency stops once some tension happens.. so it'll probably shut off and save your sack.
it's doable...if you keep the skin still. unless you have like very thick hairs then it'd be very painful.
if you have thin sack hairs, and can keep your sack still , it will be okay.
the 1st couple times will be the worst, but touchups will be np.
its very risky if you are sloppy about it, the epilator will chew your sack meat and could potentially make you bleed.

this is retarded advice
laser can clean up a LOT of hairs if you have ideal skin+hair colour (pale skin with dark hair)

it will save you literally thousands in electrolysis to do laser first then electrolysis
