Yeah, but is a more defined upper body better or worse on trans women?

NO! You'll regret it majorly.

I think transwomen have a huge inherent advantage in this field. Contrary to what you might think, cis-women need to work out their upperbodies because female fat distribution puts fat in their upper arms and shoulders. I think it's absolutely disgusting when I see a woman who has a bigger upperbody than me (a chaser man). What's more, and you've probably seen this in your own mom or aunt, women get fat that hangs off of their upper-arms. It's very gross, you want to see them slim and firm.

So, here is where transgirls come in. Transgirls (often) start out very skinny with no fat or muscle in their arms or upper body at all! You're already winning. Be careful. Estrogen will give you female fat distribution, so you will have to work out a little to maintain your "already fantastic" arms and shoulders but it's just maintenance.

tl;dr: yeah, workout. it's good for you. just don't be dumb and try to be a bodybuilder.

You should absolutely do it to health and function. If you already on your hrt and going with female fat distribution you would have a healthier looks and it would enhances the appearance of your lower body

You could go working with minimal functional volume for upper body parts and use maximum possible working volume for lower body

I think it's a good idea if you're on hrt but if you're not then you're just gonna give yourself man-muscle that might be hard to get rid of. Also don't just do upper body and end up with chicken legs
