Just realized something
A while back on 4chan some guy went on a rant about how he hoped someone would shoot and kill his local mayor "in Minecraft".
The FBI then immediately found his IP address, and then proceeded to raid his home and arrest him for conspiracy to murder a government official.
Thank god they found him quick, but it got me thinking.
Every single day I'm on here I see people talking about wanting to kill certain black people, certain trans people, certain Jewish people. Sarah McBride comes to mind immediately. No government action is taken against them. They are not arrested or investigated, and are likely not even put on a watchlist.
Why is one considered violent extremism whilst the other is considered a non-threat by the Federal Bureau of Investigation?
Aren't both considered conspiracy to commit murder?
