i mean they're good albums but it's what you get if you only put RYM top 50 of each music genre. there's not a lot of diversity in it
it's okay tho, i guess. also... mtf vibes, dunno why, maybe cus most of ppl here are...

true but even by that standard i almost never hear anyone talk about him. Which feels weird considering how influential he seems overseas, he worked on casiopea records lol

>but i mostly listen Latam music and most of users here are either european or USA citizens

been trying to get into more latam stuff, specfically brazilian music of the 60s and 70s.

Fun story: I remeber telling my girlfriend (who grew up in brazil) once how much i loved os mutantes and her response was "my grandpa used to play them all the time back in brazil, they remind me of my childhood" which i thought was cute

it's hella good..., ngl i really fw Chico Buarque. it's been years i've been listening to him and he's such a great songwriter, one of the greatest in this continent's history. last year i read a book of him and it was really nice too. if Bob Dylan won a Nobel Prize because of his stuff, the fact Chico (and some others, like Silvio) hasn't received one it's completely unfair
>Fun story

https://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/S%C3%ADtio_do_Picapau_Amarelo_(รกlbum_de_1977)
I am not meming around, the songs for the 1977 adaptation of Sitio do Picapau Amarelo had creative talent like Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil, Chico Buarque, etc. behind the music. It is not going to blow you away if you are expecting artsy and avant garde MPB, but like Schoolhouse Rock! or The Electric Company, they are childhood staples for kids born before the internet age. They are not going to worm their way in like a Disney song, but they are par with The Muppets' or 31 Minutos in terms of catchiness.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marcos_Valle
The ones for the short lived '70s Brasilian version of Sesame Street are performed and composed by Marcos Valle who has been around for decades and dabbled in many genres. They are kitschy, yes, and even childish, given the target audience, but far from the soulless cash grab they could have been. I would know, I owned the Brasilian tie in album for Saint Seiya (Os Cavaleiros do Zodiaco) and that one is a soulless cash grab in every sense of the word, even I can admit that, without my nostalgia goggles on, but I do enjoy it in the same way that I could enjoy Dee Dee Ramone's hip hop album, it is good for shit and giggles, like a B movie, just not what I would recommend in earnest. But I do stand by the Vila Sesamo and Sitio do Picapau Amarelo albums. I don't expect you to believe me without cultural baggage, but I will die on this hill.

i mean... if you wanna listen to something similar to what she did in her first albums, Insano77 is a good example. it's a dude, tho. and he leans more to what Negative XP does. i don't like none of them stuff.

"Mirror to Mirror" is how some people call the 2011 version of Twin Fantasy that was almost completely recorded by Will Toledo with a very lo-fi mood. "Face to Face" is the new version, he changed the lyrics of some songs, added new stuff and it was recorded professionaly in a studio with Matador Records. it just sounds more clean, some people like the lo-fi vibes and lyrics of the original version tho

tl;dr: it's the same album but sounds more professional
