Happened to me once, or rather in front of me. I was in the dispo, back when I used to smoke pot, and there was a packed waiting room. I think the subject of ridicule was just a poorly passing trans woman, maybe a theymab, and there were two stereotypes of inbred hicks standing directly in front of where I was sitting loudly badmouthing her. I don’t think I’m entirely stealth but I seem to pass circumstantially, and I conceit myself of having pretty feminine mannerisms and posture, they didn’t seem to notice that I’m trans. They were making all kinds of rude remarks, joking about “his” appearance and that “his” parents must be so disappointed. I wanted to say something, if not to them then at least to the staff, but I was in pretty rough emotional shape at the time and ended up buying my pot and leaving.
