The n levels are pretty pointless in general outside of tracking progress when learning, afaik there's a lot of grammar and vocab and Kanji that aren't included at all in any n level and people in Japan don't go from n5 to n4 etc they use vocab and grammar from every n level so you'd only really be able to engage with media after you're like n3+ and study a lot of vocab that's common
