How come people keep saying I pass? From like friends to 4chan and etc., I don't know if I'm being hugboxed or if it's genuine opinions. I already know that there's things I can do to pass much better, but I'm currently unable to do those things

Tbh I feel the same. People say I pass and shit but 70% of the time I don't feel like I do. It's just how it is, we tend to see ourselves differently than others do.

Yeah, I mean I look at myself at the mirror all the time so I kinda easily identify the things that makes me feel like I'm not passing. Not only that, in my case I feel like I pass even less when I'm withour makeup.

Still, people do call me "she" sometimes when I'm boymoding at my job, so it's really conflicting. I never really cared about passing, but now that I kinda do sometimes I don't really know how I feel about that.

Also my voice don't really pass, but people usually like it and say it's soft and that "they know cis women who have deeper voices".

I’m a few years in and still have a 100% no pass rate while girlmoding yet I think people who achieve any degree of passing early on experience way worse worms due to much more intense imposter syndrome.

It's 70% of the time I feel like I don't pass, and I'm only considering this rate when I'm actually girlmoding (not necessarily with make up and hyper feminine). The actual passing rate (which I base on how people treat me without hearing my voice beforehand) I think would be like 80~85%.

I don't really mind not passing when I'm boymoding. I also consider myself kinda early on HRT (14 months tomorrow) so I try not thinking to much about it cause I could still """evolve""" on that aspect. I'm also technically non binary so I kinda like to be able to be boy-ish sometimes.

yeah my voice is kinda deep but I've had a few times where people naturally referred to me as "she/her" because of my voice even before I started transitioning, deep voice though which I do want it to be softer too. Usually my irl name gives it away that I'm amab or family I'm around tend to press that fact on people we meet. I asked friends about my voice and I usually get a "it's deep but not as masc as you think it sounds". idk if they're just being nice

It's possible. I'm 5'9 and kinda fat. When I take a pic of myself like laying down and looking up at a camera I usually look horrendous. When I take a pic by looking directly at the camera like in the pic I attached to this thread, it looks decent enough to post. What kind of angles should I avoid in pics?

Yeah I've heard that 4chan is usually more unfiltered and less moderated than reddit, but I've recently tried using reddit and all their lgbt tips subreddits are all heavily gatekept behind karma requirements and shit so I gave up trying to use reddit. Still though sometimes 4chan does feel hugboxy but idk if that's me or if I objectively pass.

I've followed plenty of advice that I've gotten from 4chan and it's helped a ton. I tend to screenshot and take note of the advice I get on here because it always becomes useful later on. My hair doesn't look *as* bad as it once did, but there's definitely more things I could do to make it look nicer. I have the types of makeup I want to try out, but I can't get them atm because I have to deal with interacting with family who wouldn't be fine with knowing that I'm trans and that I want to be a girl, so those are the roadblocks that prevent me from experimenting more with stuff. Sorry if it comes off as uncaring or that I'm disregarding advice you may have previously given me, but I do keep ahold of all the advice I'm given :)

I feel the same. I used to weigh 230 a couple months ago, and I'm 190, but I still feel like I look the same but with longer hair.

Hm it's possible, I should take pics from a few different angles but I tend to turn on selfie mode and stare at the camera when I take a pic. Which angles would you recommend for getting pics that are more representative of how I look irl?

It's probably not even hugboxing--it's just that 90% of the userbase is autistic and they aren't the best judges of these things. Their compass is broken. Nobody ever points this out but of course transbians who don't understand society and social interactions well are going to be off base.

Maybe, do you know what angle I should take a face pic at? I'm concerned that I'm taking photos that could misrepresent how I look and maybe the angle makes me look better or something. I do know different phone cameras use certain lenses that can make your selfies appear wider or have a little distortion on them.
