Don't let self harm or masochism confuse you, those are the result of constantly seeking validation or pleasure which makes dopamine harder to come by the longer the behavior continues. That drives people to be more extreme in their search for pleasure. Dopamine also causes aggression. The nucleus accumbens especially and medial forebrain bundle are the parts of the brain most responsible for affirmative reactions to cuteness and cuteness aggression. This should explain a lot of the culture here shaped by MtFs which is self victimizing, aggresive, and vain.
