here, weeds grow faster than grass in a day, which means on constantly cut lawns, they out compete the grass and end up crowding it out. some are even helped by cutting because they can grow more from the spread cut pieces and spread out.
you ever see abondoned homes where the grass is like 2 feet tall? its mostly grass, because the weeds do grow faster, but only to a certain point that is shorter and less thick than when grass is allowed to reach its full size, and they start to get crowded out, and the grass when it dies lays over and suffocates the flat ground weeds
