The negative flip side to this is that this also means that gender affirming care is not on our public medical system and cannot even be claimed via private health.

Semi-rural Australia is actually surprisingly queer and I have seen a number of other trans people (and more broadly queer) just living their lives. I guess due to city rents driving so many people into the country.
