So I'm going to tell you something I've never told anyone before, okay op?
I think people who can manage to self harm have a lot of strength. I've tried in the past and short of me having a minor mental break episode, I can't do it consistently, I always flinched back or pussed out or the like. It takes a lot of determination to manage to push past your basic survival instincts and actually self harm, no matter what method you use.
Not trying to glamorize it, just genuinely wanted to share my thoughts on it.

No I do get it. I'm a guy but I've been troubled my entire life. I feel failure and pain associated with being a loser, and I used to hit myself really hard. Hard enough that my dad heard me punch myself in the face and cried. So I stopped doing that because it made me sad to hurt him. I started lifting weights whenever I feel that frustration boiling up in me.
