trans people are like 1% of the population. people who can be construed as supporting trans people based on public statements are a much larger group. if you amplify every bad thing a member of that group does, and then blame it on the much smaller number of actually trans people, you are going to drastically inflate perceived rates of wrongdoing by trans people.
