Do actual hispanic people get offended over "latinx" and other attempts to make spanish gender neutral? I've got a feeling that the pushback is a psyop from falseflagging chuds.

Anyone who seriously uses "latinx" in a Spanish sentence is a full blown retard. You don't see people pushing this bullshit in other gendered Latin languages nearly as much, because it is often Chicano and people born to Puerto Rican families, that have never been to Puerto Rico, trying to fix a language without having lived in any Hispanic country. You can't police another language if you are a non native speaker, who does not fucking know how it worked in another country where Spanish is their only official language.
>Latinx does not adhere to conventional grammatical gender rules in Spanish, is difficult to pronounce for Spanish speakers, and is criticized as showing disrespect towards the Spanish language as a whole. In Latin America, terms such as Latine and Latin@ have been used to indicate gender-neutrality; however, the Royal Spanish Academy style guide does not recognize gender-neutral language for the Spanish language as grammatically correct. In English, Latin without a suffix has been proposed as an alternative to Latinx.
>Reception of the term among Hispanic and Latino Americans has been overwhelmingly negative, and surveys have found that the vast majority prefer other terms such as Hispanic and Latina/Latino to describe themselves with only 2–3% using Latinx. A 2023 Pew Research Center survey found that roughly half of U.S. Hispanics were not aware of the term Latinx; of those aware of it, 75% said it should not be used, including 36% who found increased usage to be a bad thing.

Yeah, everyone got mad when "progres" tried to use inclusive language which got rid of gendered words. They would go apeshit if someone actually tried to push the latinx thing.
Anonymous No.40285756
im convinced people getting mad at the bit is a bit within itself, its been 4 years or something now and people still get baited

As an actual hispanic person (mexican), i'm all for it. It'd be the only case of "colonization" where the natives actually benefit from it in the way conguistador dickriders insist it does.

Spanish is my native language and it makes 0 sense.

Fun fact, during the 2005-2008 era, my forum signature featured a bad word on what today would be seen as inclusive language, it was a good conversation starter, but it was actually the opposite, one day my grandma out of nowhere called me "idiote", I thought she was just old and mispronouncing words, she would constantly call me "hija", but that wasn't the case, one day I just asked her why she was using that word and her reason was "Pues no eres vieja aunque quieras, idiota es para mujeres, idiote es para hombres", so she was just misgendering me lmao

Im chilean, i dont care about it. I find it dumb but i wont get mad if someone uses it, its obviously meant to only be used in written form and anyone who gets seriously worked up about it is either a chud or a retard whos just repeating the same thing as chuds without realizing.

I always thought Latinx was just supposed to be like writing Latino/a with fewer letters. People are actually actively trying to de-gender Spanish?

My latin american side of the family doesn't even know that the term exists aside from my brother who uses it unironically. A lot of the anger on social media is performative and stupid. If you're that pedantic just use latine and move on.

I'm brapzilian. I think it's silly and forced. I don't get offended but I find it funny. I avoid association with the people that try unironically to make it a thing as they are profoundly disfunctional retards that will inevitably go on a histrionic crusade against you for the PrObLeMaTiC behavior of the week. Nothing against my non binary bros

I do, but only because i know AGAIN that the majority of the population isn't about to change its entire ass language and stop sexing EVERYTHING EVER IN EXSISTANCE. I actually speak REAL true to life Spanish and the different dialects and have family that works in the university's in other counties that Teach Spanish.
Its exactly like what they tried to do in the US with that shit, yeah It'll fly with people who are starstruck but the people who know are not about to let that shit ride.

It just sounds stupid as hell, to me it sounds like English speakers trying to enforce English grammatical rules on Spanish. It's exclusively done by English speakers as well.

yes its fucking retarded, im not going to foam at the mouth if someone uses it but i will think of them as a moron from that moment on, if its online i will call you out on being a fucking retard trying to turn a gendered language into non-gendered baby babbling like english is (a language that is fucking poor information bandwidth)

My grandmother suggested this the first time I told her about how people are unironically saying latinx now, she was an English major and a Spanish teacher for forty years. I think that's probably the best way to make it gender neutral that doesn't sound retarded, but I think this should be left to the native speakers of the language.

It started off as psyop, but a lot of chuddie latinX people in the USA who have never actually lived in a latin american country picked up on it because they want to push the narrative that REAL latinX culture is inherently misogynistic and chuddy, so whoever invented the psyop knew what they were doing
