We had our sex ed in late elementary, the class was split along boy/girl lines and we were taught strictly about the reproductive anatomy of and how puberty would progress for our assigned sex. No talk about actual sex (obviously) or the other sex either, and it was taught in concordance with the anti-drug classes they do too. It wasn't remotely new information for someone who grew up in a rural household with tons of different kinds of animals that's for sure. Middle school saw a sex ed class that taught the same information but did mention abstinence (no info on how sex functions or condoms etc.) High school had a video that was slightly more informative but literally everyone knew everything by then anyway.

I don't disavow the mental concept of gender identity or what have you. It's a thing that happens differently for different people. I think it's disingenuous to not also take biology/physical sex into account as it relates to things like sports, medicine, etc. If you are an MtF, you still need to know what a male sexed body is and how it works so you can have informed consent about your HRT use and proper expectations about what the results will be.
