Its humor that gays cant understand. Ideologically, its probably the biggest mental divergence between gays and straights. It has to do with that subject of priorities, and what is called a "high time preference" typical of minds uncomplicated by complete development.

Gays assume as fact that nothing is more important to males than sexual release, behave and interact that way. It baffles them that straights do not indulge in same sex release because it is, logistically, so much easier.

They then mistakenly extrapolate from that the straights are somehow unaware of this and are simply shy, timid or prejudiced, But this isnt true.

Straights are completely aware of how easy same sex release would be. Thats why its a point of ironic humor. The reason this humor is an enigma to gays is because gays literally cannot relate to or imagine having a higher priority, and will indeed pursue sex by any method right up to the point of external enforcement, always pushing new limits.

However to straights, its a non starter. To them, it doesnt matter how easy it is, there are numerous other things to consider, not the least of which is personal moral decay, and they have masturbation to use as a frame of reference. They understand that as soon as they excuse it once, it can become a problematic habit. That is how they govern their behavior. Attraction to females simply assists in keeping it in check.

And that is why same sex indulgence for gays reveals that lack of other priorities, and why straight humor often perplexes them. And ideologically and mentally, represents the biggest split between them.

Keeping friends just gets more difficult for most as you get older. Most peoples livelihood options make them keep moving about during their early adult years so stability keeps slipping away.

By the time youre situated, friends from long past are mostly just numbers you never hear from or call anymore.

In the modern economy, most people do not work the same job in the same town from 20 till forever. So it sort of means you have to keep moving to keep ahead.

But I also hear what you are saying about "having to call first". I know that feel from some past groups. It makes you question your social value and status.

It can be fixed by somewhat obvious, cliche means, to be sure. Whether its worth it or not is another matter; whether it is something to chase.

Also, it can be a matter of interpretation and comparison, which can lead to warped perspectives of self image whether the interpretation is correct or not.
