ngl this is why I keep all trans stuff to an absolute minimum with my boyfriend and people in general. Im vague about appointments, don’t bring up trans stuff, don’t engage with trans content, etc. For a very long time my bf didn’t know why I went into the bathroom for 10 mins once a week at exactly the same time and day (doing my shot). He didn’t even know I took shots. I only talk about trans stuff with my therapist, doctor, and my only trans friend (all the rest are cis). We dont hang out in queer spaces either which probably helps. I let a trans friend stay with us for a few months when she was homeless and he mentioned that she would talk more about trans stuff in day than I had during the entirety of our relationship. Him and I got any discussions about that out of the way early and left it at that. Most normal ppl especially guys don’t wanna hear about it. They don’t get it, don’t care, and everyone is honestly tired of hearing about it. I’ll vent about work drama or friends or my family or literally anything else to my man but bringing up trans shit to him is just annoying and stupid.
