I came out as trans in '04, but even before I physically transitioned, I couldn't use any gender of bathroom without risking being screamed at or on one occasion slapped around (for the womens) and stalked and threatened with sexual assault (in the mens).

Transgenderism is largely parasitic, piggy backing of a lot of the arguments for the acceptance of gays to try and normalise itself but at the expense of making everyone hate the LGBT more.
Take the concept of transgender brains. There's effectively no compelling evidence for the existence of them. There is evidence for the existence of gay brains, and as such gays are often mixed into the data pools to try and make a compelling argument when in actually you're just observing (yet again) that gay brains do exist. If transgender brains were real and innate (as the claim is they are born this way like gays are) then there would be straight trans identifying people with brain differences prior to taking HRT.
It then puts you on a path of gay erasure, "reverse conversion therapy" some call it, because people could cherry pick these studies that have conflated the gay brain as being the transgender brain and use that as justification for giving every gay child HRT. Why? Probably because they hate seeing two men kiss, and so go the route of those Islamic nations that would kill gays but are fine with transgenderism. That's not even getting into the historical stuff where gays are being rewritten as transwomen

The reason why is the narcissism innate to transgenderism, be it grandiose or vulnerable. Of course the AGP or the AAP is self-absorbed, and like all narcissists they'll try to convince you the thing that benefits themself actually helps you too.
Even if it's not gay erasure, repurposing the arguments for the acceptance of gays for the acceptance of transgenderism while claiming the gays are on your side will hurt the gay argument when people start to realise the trannies are lying - that there is no trans brain, or that gender transition only looks like it helps when you exclude all the suicides for "non-compliance" to the psyche exams
The layman isn't going to differentiate, and will assume if all the tranny shit eas lies that all the real gay shit was lies also

The question is whether a coalition of people that normies think look like slight variations of Chris-chan are able to be allies in a pragmatic way, or if they are inherently a ball and chain on whatever movement they are a part of due to the bad optics they create.

I'd say they should be there own thing and be considered separately from the rest of LGB to prevent backsliding of the rest of the coalition's rights.
