>>40372458The food is nutritionally devoid, but its heavily processed and contains artifical substances that lead to visceral fat.
So let's say I over eat on broccoli, carrots, spinach, eggs, tuna etc, all food we can agree is healthy and should be eaten, rich in minerals and vitamins. I will gain subcutaneous fat. Fat on the body that can be used as a fuel source. Plus the nutrients from the food actually help with mitochondria processes. This is where calories in calories out applies. I can lose the weight easily with exercise.
CICO does not apply to ultra processed food, the body stores that as visceral fat, which is fat around the organs. This is not readily available as a fuel source to the body and some scientists believe it can never be burnt off. This causes severe mitochondria damage, high blood pressure, clogged arteries, hyper tension, heart disease, all kinds of problems.
So if you regularly consume ultra processed food, the visceral fat accumulates and it leads to catastrophic health conditions. Its why 80% of the UK is over weight/obese, 5 million people have type 2 diabetes, and the annual cost of obesity alone in the UK is £50 billion
So people here are fat, short and very ill
