Yes, I do have certain abilities that may or may not be palpable regarding the topic of reading and language. But no, despite common if favorable misinterpretations, does this make me a passionate or deep scholar, erudite in any way or even especially intelligent in and of itself.

And I will say again, if you enjoy reading fiction, keep doing it. If anything, I envy the patience and luxury of time people have for it.

If you want a criticism, then I will offer this warning: once you have read enough, and I mean a lot, and can recognize commercial crap, you will see how much there is, and how much repetition that has been going on since the printed page.

Enjoy it, learn from it and keep enjoying it. But dont try to shame me because I didnt jump enthusiastically into a topic that I am plainly admitting I am not involved it.
