I have genital HSV-1. Aside from the initial adjustment period when I was literally suicidal, and which hurt a lot, it's fine. I learned about it, I took the lessons I learned from being trans and applied them here, and I got on daily antivirals. Things were completely okay and I never even had another outbreak. I will gladly tell anyone about it without thinking.

No, but I had a guest whose history I don't know use my kitchen sink and bathroom and ever since I've been absolutely shit-scared he spread it onto a surface somehow. So every time I touch any surface he might have I've been washing my hands with hot water (like ~30+ handwashes a day.)
