After 8 years of study I have to tell myself I love it. It's an obvious drawback of the job but nonetheless it's really really difficuly dealing with everything I'm told each day. I also have to deal with people expecting me to be perfect in my normal life - I am a human too. I'm really happy with the financial stability and job security, and even though it's difficult it feels meaningful. Trannies deserve well paying educated jobs too.

No, I don't. I enjoy the actual work, but I do not like dealing with design firms who seem to always ignore standards due to a financial incentive. Dealing with their people that try and smooth talk their way out when they get caught is exceptionally irritating to me. In general it feels like I review lazy children's homework, one who are always trying to get away with something.

i hope so! an old poster here (maybe she is still around.....i miss you and love you and hope your life is awesome) used to be a firefighter and i thought that was so cool. ever since learning that i've wanted to do it but i was never able because i was going to school (wasting my degree now) and never really had the chance but now that i'm home for good i really really really wanna look into that. i think that it would really fulfill me, even if i were not the one fighting fires but just working in the firehouse helping things run smoothly. it's an important line of work and i want to contribute.

Good luck anon. Try to get some interview training and someone to look over your resume If you can. I needed it despite having jobs before with how hard it is to land a job right now. Treat finding a job like a full time job. Go to the library for at least 3h a day and apply to whatever you can in that time. My local library was very kind and people helped me review my cover letters I was sending in. I also had a bullet point list to make note on the jobs I applied for so if they called me I wasn’t blind sided and could make a good impression on whoever I was talking to.

If you work in education, you have far more responsibility than I do.
I find it fun to program, but the actual outcome of my job is mostly inconsequential. The job is basically: Add features to service to keep up with competitor's service, fix bugs that customers likely work around already, make service more reliable, integrate service with other service.
Occasionally shit breaks and I need to do something late, but most days I work roughly 10:30-5 and I usually take a nap after lunch.

Not really, though the expectation placed on you depends a ton on the kind of workplace. Also I'm from a quite socially reserved country. If it's a fancy place you're supposed to be fancy and very polite and if it's a dive bar you are kind of stereotypically expected to be a cynical, grumpy motherfucker (half of my coworkers) so the "bar" is nowhere near as high as you might think.

Privately I am not very a outgoing at all to be honest but I of view shooting the shit with customers as entirely distinct from actual socialization if that makes any sense. It really doesn't drain my batteries at all for some reason. As long as they aren't particularly annoying (~30-40% of the time on a good day) I quite enjoy talking nonsense with them whenever I have the time.

I do think it's a bit more demanding for younger women though and I don't just mean the sadly "usual" sexual harassment stuff. (Worth noting ig that in hospitality sexual harassment by customers is pretty common towards younger guys too since it's less frowned upon for a cougar to get handsy) A fair proportion of people just tend to be a bit more difficult with them on average and don't always take their word the first time even if they'd take mine. But this is really just for women in their 20s, early 30s, after that customers respect them the same as anyone else I think.

It's not as bad at all as I made it sound like and I do like it even if I could not see myself doing this for a career.
