Matthew 5:17 is basically the equivalent of when socialists say that socialism is meant to be the true realization of the ideals of freedom and democracy that liberalism preaches. Like yes, that is true, but just as socialism is obviously not liberalism, so too the doctrine of Jesus is clearly not the doctrine of Abraham (no matter how much hardliners want to insist otherwise).
