Usually my go to is to offer to give them a headpat over the internet. You have to have built up a bit of rapport first, but it's really not too onerous.

The basic idea is that you get them to let you control their hand by voice command. Then you do something silly with their hand like pinch their nose or smth, just to dig the idea into their head that you are controlling the hand.
