I also wanna say, on a related note, I moved to Portland OR in the early 2010s and tried gay dating, and somehow, after a few dates, the gays talked to each other - I mean its not a small place, but its not a big place either - and then after that somehow gays knew who I was in advance and I somehow had a bad reputation - I don't even remember what I was accused of doing wrong - just that people I had never met before claimed I did things wrong on previous dates - so obviously the gays were gossiping, and it was so uncomfortable I just stopped trying to date at all the rest of the time I lived there.
