1) It's hardly just "the left". The far right uses the word groomer so much to ramp up genocidal hatred towards queers that it basically has no meaning. 90% of psychologists and social workers who do treat these sorts of people are left leaning and they tend to be less punitive about the justice system.
2) They should be able to access non judgemental therapy and fantasies that don't involve exploitation in the production of content, for sure. That doesn't mean associating them with LGBT broadly is a good idea. Besides obvious optics, they're very different.
3) People are emotional in general. They like having legitimized targets for violence even when half the population is fine with Israel and Russia killing children right now, and would never help a charity for kids or whatever. Fascist language about executing people has been very normalized online
